How to Replace a Document

There are times when the text on a document needs to be updated, and then replaced on a transaction before it is sent out to be signed.

If your transaction has not yet been started, then you can make certain edits to it, including the replacement of a document with a new one.

All of your signature fields, text boxes, etc will remain in the same place on the document even with the replacement, so you won't have to start over with tagging.

The new document must be the same, or more, pages in length as the document that it is replacing. You cannot replace one document with another of fewer pages.

For example: a document with 10 pages total must be replaced with another 10+ page document, it cannot be replaced with a 9 page document.

Steps:

  • Go to the "Documents" tab of the transaction
  • Click on the Replace button, it looks like a circle with two arrows in black and white
  • Click "Replace" and then search your computer for the new document file
  • Select the appropriate file and click "open" to add it into the transaction and it will replace the original document
  • Click the "Save" button at the top of the screen to capture this change and then you can continue with setting up your transaction and sending it out to be signed.
