State RON Registration - Florida
For notaries in the state of Florida who would like to apply to become Remote Online Notaries, we can help you with this process.
Requirements:
- Review the details on the state website: https://dos.fl.gov/sunbiz/other-services/notaries/remote-online-notary-public/
- You must already be a traditional notary first.
- You must then complete an Online Education Course and received a Certificate which you will submit with your registration.
- SIGNiX is not an "Education Provider" at this time, as we only train notaries how to use our software, not how to be notaries in their state.
- You can find state approved "Education Providers" here on their website: https://dos.fl.gov/sunbiz/other-services/notaries/remote-online-notary-public-education-providers/
- Sign up with a RON vendor, like SIGNiX
- Purchase a Digital Notary Seal image from a third party vendor that meets the state's requirements.
- We recommend the company eNotary Supplies, and enter code "signix" at checkout to save $5 off the purchase of your digital seal image.
- When you are ready to apply, you must complete the "Online Notary Public Information form" and submit it to the state's office, along with your "Application for Registration for Online Notary Public" in order for the state to process the request.
What is required to enter during the application?
Here is a link to the document that you should print and fill out, then include with your application via mail.
You will enter the following info into the form:
- Your Name
- Your Notary Commission
- The name of the Remote Online Notary Service Provider(s) that you have used since January of 2022
- Enter our company name of "SIGNiX"
- The Effective Start Date - when you signed up with SIGNiX
- The Effective End Date (if applicable) - this will depend on if you plan to cancel with SIGNiX after your agreement is up and do not wish to renew.
- Many notaries sign up for a 3 year agreement, or a 1 year is also available.
- Identify any secured repositories for retaining your electronic journal
- SIGNiX allows you to create electronic journal entries with every document that you notarize through our software, but we are not your Secure Repository, and it is up to each notary to decide for themselves how they want to retain their journal entries.
- You can download these journal entries from your SIGNiX account periodically, and then you will need to tell the state how you plan to store those.
- Your signature and the date are required at the bottom of the state's form.
