Some clients make use of a physical device called a signature pad to capture digital signatures for documents. SIGNiX now offers compatibility with the Topaz brand of signature pad.
SIGNiX has introduced the capability for clients who use Topaz signature pads to use their device to create a digital signature for use on documents sent through our system.
This feature is enabled across the board, so clients of all types of accounts should be able to use this option, if they have a Topaz device installed on their computer.
What is required?
In order to see the option, you must have the following:
- The Topaz software and drivers properly installed on your computer
- The appropriate extension(s) installed on your browser - either Chrome or Edge
- You must access SIGNiX using that same browser
If all three factors are done correctly, then the Topaz feature should appear automatically.
Please Note: SIGNiX does not offer support for installing nor maintaining the software for the Topaz signature pads. We assume that your software and drivers have been properly installed prior to using SIGNiX for digital signatures.
What does it look like?
When setting up a signature in SIGNiX for the first time, or choosing to adjust your existing signature appearance, there should be a new button for using Topaz in the "Draw Your Own Signature" section.
After clicking the "Use Topaz" button, it should connect to your device and then a smaller window should pop-up to allow you to see what you have drawn using the pad.
On the pop-up window, there are several small control buttons at the top right, so that you can Erase the image to start over, Accept the image with the green checkmark, or Close the window.
When you are satisfied with your signature image, click the green checkmark to Accept it, and then the image will appear on the SIGNiX screen inside the signature box.
Repeat the same steps for the Initials, which cannot be left blank.
Once you are finished, you can click the "Let's Go" button to proceed with signing your documents, and this digital signature image will be used for you going forward until you decide to change it.
What does it cost?
There are no additional costs to using the Topaz signature pad in conjunction with your SIGNiX digital signatures. The feature is automatically enabled, and available when it detects the proper software, drivers, and browser extensions.
Does it matter what device is used?
SIGNiX is currently setup to be compatible with Topaz brand devices. The model or version should not matter, so long as all of the proper setup on your computer has been done.
No additional setup within your SIGNiX account is required, since it is built into our system.
Non-Topaz devices are not included in this feature.
